After the Arab Legion destroyed the Jewish Quarter in the Old City of Jerusalem and the last Jewish residents were evacuated or taken captive to Amman, the Arabs proposed the demilitarization of the Old City.

The UN Truce Commission has begun discussions on the resumption of civilian traffic between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. It appears there are good prospects for the opening of the Jerusalem-Tel Aviv road via Ramla in the coming days.

The tragedy of Jerusalem is that it is international and considered sacred by people of all religions, ostensibly. The sanctity of Jerusalem becomes a topic of remembrance only when Jewish forces retaliate against their enemies.

“Man does not live by bread alone” is a beautiful saying. In ordinary times, it is clear to all that even though bread forms an important part of the daily diet, it is not the main element of the food a person needs to survive.

The Jewish fighting forces in Jerusalem are stationed only seven meters from the walls of the Old City. From this position, which they have held since May 19th, they have repelled all assaults by the Arab Legion attempting to break into Jewish Jerusalem.

There have been riots in Jerusalem before, victims have fallen, dear and numerous victims. However, never before has Jewish Jerusalem been in such a state of trial as the days it is experiencing now.
