The first three days of resumed hostilities have forced the Arabs in the Jerusalem district to be on the defensive, and all their counter-attacks have been repulsed.

The Jewish defence army, which operates in full coordination with the Irgun Zvai Leumi and the Stern group, quickly took the initiative into their hands and heavily shelled the Arab positions. During an army and Stern group attack on Ein Karim, an important stronghold 700 yards from the village has been captured from the Arab Legion.
